Driving NC II for Indigenous People (IPs) of Sitio Apnagan, Brgy. Villa Pag-asa, Bansud, Oriental Mindoro

To address the provisions of livelihood and employment opportunities of the local Mangyan IPs, residents of Sitio Apnagan, Brgy. Villa Pag-asa, Bansud, Oriental Mindoro, and to enhance knowledge and skills in certain trade area, Simeon Suan Vocational and Technical College headed by the Acting Vocational School Administrator, MR. EDGAR MARTIN R. SALCEDO, in partnership with the Local Government unit of Municipality of Bansud headed by HON. RONALDO M. MORADA, Municipal Mayor, organized and conducted a Driving NC II training scheduled on September 7 – 27, 2022 at Simeon Suan Vocational and Technical College.

The training program primarily aimed to address the skills training provisions and to strengthen linkages and partnerships that would assist people or any organization with a mission to help the Indigenous People (IPs) get into productive undertakings to help themselves and their communities.

Moreover, through convergence efforts of Local Government Unit of Bansud that provided support to the twenty-five (25) participants during the said training and the assistance of Simeon Suan Vocational and Technical College as training provider, the DRIVING NC II training program have been conducted immediately upon request of the said beneficiaries.

In view of this, MR. GIL T. RODRIGUEZ, Assistant Professor II of this institution, has been designated as trainer for 15 days training program. He presented and discussed the consisted competencies that a person must have achieved under Driving NC II competency. Likewise, various activities and actual demonstrations have been facilitated that enabled the trainees learned the unit of competencies of this qualification and to be competent as Professional Driver and/or Light Vehicle Driver.

The conduct of 15 days training program under Driving NC II has been successfully conducted upon the assessment made by the trainer and through the observation and monitoring of the Vocational Instruction Supervisor III, MR. ELVEEN M. MONDOŇEDO. Additionally, the supervision and unending support of Mr. Edgar Martin R. Salcedo, Acting Vocational School Administrator, and the assistance provided by the Municipality of Bansud headed by Hon. Ronaldo M. Morada during the said training, made a big impact during the implementation of training in terms of strengthening the linkages and partnership and addressing the needs, providing training skills program to Indigenous People (IPs) and made the training a successful one.
