Simeon Suan Vocational and Technical College successfully commenced the first batch of trainees for their Diploma Program in Hotel and Restaurant Services Technology on August 22, 2022.
This is the result of thorough preparation of the program to meet the requirements set on TESDA Circular No. 38, series of 2017, entitled Implementing Guidelines for the Program under PQF Level 5 Pilot. Primarily, the objective of the program is to scale up technical education and address the need to further develop the global competitiveness of Filipino workers.
The selection of the twenty-five trainees is based on the result of the qualifying entrance examination facilitated by the designated Guidance Counselor, Ma’am Ma. Luisa F. Madla. The established screening committee that includes Sir Edgar Martin R. Salcedo (Diploma Program Focal/Acting Vocational School Administrator), Sir Elveen M. Mondoňedo (Vocational Instruction Supervisor III), and Ma’am Meriam C. Ilao (Registrar III) paved the way to interview the qualified trainees.
Support to the thrust of global competitiveness, the first semester of the course includes the TVET Qualifications in Bread and Pastry Production NC II and Driving NC II. The course arrangement ensures the integration of the three domains of learning such as cognitive, affective, and psychomotor as the trainees learn the General Education subjects and the competency standards designed for each semester.
