TESDA, DOLE and DOT join forces to provide assistance to the affected families of the oil-spill disaster in the province of Oriental Mindoro through training and cash for work.
TESDA Director General Danilo P. Cruz, DOLE Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma and DOT Secretary Maria Esperanza- Christina G. Frasco represented by Atty. Shereen Gail Yu- Pamintuan, witnessed by Governor Humerlito A. Dolor of the Province of Oriental Mindoro and the different mayors of the province, manifested their full support through the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement at the Calapan City Convention Center, Tawiran Calapan City, April 24, 2023. The DG was assisted by Deputy Director General for TESD Operations, DDG Aniceto D. Bertiz, III.
In attendance were 1,200 prospective beneficiaries, including TESDA scholars, TESDA TVIs and its students, PESO managers, DOLE Officials and Undersecretaries, and other NGA officials of the MIMAROPA.
After the short program, DG Cruz and DDG Bertiz had a special chance to visit the TESDA info booths and had the opportunity for an up-close talk and picture-taking with the heads of TVIs, officers of the TVET Association in Oriental Mindoro and TESDA scholars.
In the afternoon, a short meet-and-greet event with DG Cruz and DDG Bertiz in TESDA MIMAROPA Regional Office was attended by TESDA personnel from the Regional Office headed by RD Angelina M. Carreon with the support of ARD Rosalina P. Reyes, Oriental Mindoro Provincial Office headed by APD Joey C. Aclan, PTC Oriental Mindoro headed by Administrator Judith Anne A. Buhat, and Simeon Suan Vocational and Technical College headed by VSA Israfel L. Mangui.
DG Cruz, in his message, inspired the TESDA MIMAROPA personnel with his encouragement to keep on serving with integrity, remain faithful and excellent at work in honor of true public service. As he concluded, he further encouraged everyone to “keep moving forward” along with the agency’s ideals to serve and help transform lives. Also on this special event, RD Angelina M. Carreon officially presented and launched the driving force for MIMAROPA excellence, TESDA 4B MOVES, which stands for “Maximizing Opportunities for Vibrant, Excellent Service”. Put into application, it will guide every TESDA 4B operating unit to diligently adhere to fulfill this mantra through a positive take on process improvements, better service and quality management system.
