TESDA MIMAROPA signed Pledge of Commitment to fully support the implementation and operationalization of the Integrated Coconut Processing Center or Shared Facilities Program under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) spearheaded by the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHILMECH).
PD Zoraida V. Amper, PhD., CSEE of TESDA Marinduque represented TESDA MIMAROPA RD Angelina M. Carreon, CSEE in the groundbreaking and awarding ceremony for Integrated Coconut Processing Center held last June 21, 2023 at Brgy. Pawa, Boac Marinduque where the commitment signing was part of the program. TESDA shall be in-charge in the training component of the program.
Dr. Dionisio G. Alvindia, Director IV of PhilMech awarded the certificate to Gov. Presbitero J. Velasco, Jr., as the recipient of the CFIDP-SPF-Integrated Coconut Processing Center Building which will be funded by PhilMech. According to Boac Mayor Armi D. Carreon, there will be around 5,000 coconut farmers from Boac and Mogpog who will benefit from the project. According to Governor Velasco the project will uplift the lives of the coconut farmers. “Bukod sa karagdagang kita at oportunidad para sa ating mga magsasaka ng niyog, mapapalakas din nito ang produksiyon ng niyog at mapapalago ang sektor ng agrikultura sa lalawigan,” he said. He was also thankful to all the partner agencies in the successful implementation of the project.
This project was led by Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) headed by Administrator Bernie F. Cruz and PhilMech Director IV, Dr. Dionisio Alvindia. Other partners in this project are Department of Agriculture, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), at Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).
