Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-MIMAROPA Region joins the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) by conducting activities to create awareness regarding VAW on December 9, 2016. This campaign is observed annually from November 25 to December 12 to raise awareness that VAW is a public issue of national concern. With the theme “VAW-free community starts with me,” the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) emphasized the “Me” which aims to “individualize” and make the people “own” the campaign.
TESDA-MIMAROPA’s activities include:
- “VAW-free community starts with me” tarpaulin hanging
- Presentation of the campaign background
- Presentation of the 2016 E-VAW theme
- Presentaion/Discussion of RA 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004
- Commitment Ritual or signing Pledge of Commitment from the perspective of a government agency: “We are staunch advocates of Anti-VAWC. We will continue to provide and improve our services for our clients so that they can live a life that is free from VAW.”
