With the theme “Building the Future Through the Power of Skills”, TESDA IV-B opens the 2022 Regional Skills Competition at Simeon Suan Vocational Technical College (SSVTC), August 30. Participated in by the five (5) provincial delegation from Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan together with the Regional Office (RO) staff headed by OIC- RD Rosalina P. Reyes, the 2022 RSC began with the motorcade of participants from SSVTC through Bansud Town Proper and was followed by a banner raising activity.
Immediately, the opening program began at 9AM and was graced with inspirational messages from OIC- RD Reyes, Hon. Mayor Ronaldo Morada (Bansud) represented by Mr. Leo Capapas, Mr. Ronalhd M. Eguiron, OMTESA President, and Hon. Governor Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor represented by Ms. Sofia Logmao.
The official declaration of the 2022 RSC Opening was spearheaded by OIC- RD Reyes with the PDs, VSAs, PTC Heads and guests through a special fireworks display bannered with a tagline, “Let the competition begin!” A ceremonial lighting of torch was led by Jaster Ed M. Pestaño, 2021 Regional Gold Medalist followed by the competitors’ and experts’ oath. In closing, a customary tribute dance was performed by the Viva- viva dancers to show warm welcome to the TESDA officials and guests.
Competitors buckle down as OIC- RD Rosalina P. Reyes, PD Amir M. Ampao, ROD Chief Marisa S. Lagar, FASD Chief Vanessa Jane D. Aceveds and RO Officials roam around workshop areas, onset of RSC Day 2, August 31.
The seven (7) work shop areas visited were Electrical Installations, Baking, Automobile Technology, Restaurant Services, Cooking, Fashion Technology, and Welding.
Competitors per skill area were namely: Bakery- Yllona Janer M. Ylagan, Nikko Bien P. Habigo, and Archear D. Obligar; Automotive Technology- Justin Ed M. Pestaño and James Patrick C. Meren; Electrical Installations- Joshua D. Almarez, Jombee R. Ramos, and Abner C. Jimenez, Jr.
Meanwhile, three (3) skill areas that enlisted a sole competitor put up for skill demonstration. They were namely: Restaurant Service- Cleford John S. Manuel; Fashion Technology- Joyce M. Restua, and Cooking- Alona Jane F. Malicsi.
The 3rd day of Tesda Mimaropa RSC 2022 is about giving credits and awards to the success of the said event. Without the joint effort of the whole Tesda Mimaropa Family, this event could not be how successful and fulfilling as it is. The recognition of unending support from our partners which is with us from start to finish, the relentless staff of TESDA and of course the skilled competitors which worked their way for three days straight to prove that they are worthy of winning and give pride to their provinces.
Part of the awards are Scholarship Slots for 2023 Allocation to the participating schools all over the region.
