TESDA graduates on Wood Carving Level II receive starter toolkits from DOLE

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) awarded toolkits amounting to almost three hundred thousand pesos (P300,000.00) to TESDA graduates last June 7, 2023 in a ceremony held at the Provincial Capitol Compound, Boac, Marinduque. The awarded toolkits to start their livelihood is one of the components of DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program according to Mr. Philip Alano, DOLE-Marinduque Provincial Officer.

PD Zoraida V. Amper, PhD., CSEE expressed her heartfelt gratitude to DOLE for the support extended to TVET graduates. “Wood Carving Level II is an area-based demand-driven skills requirement in Marinduque and was developed to address the skills gap in wood carving so that Morion mask carvers, as part of the province’s culture being the Morion Capital of the Philippines, will continue to flourish,” PD Amper added.

The eight (😎 beneficiaries were graduates from the Wood Carving Level II training conducted by Provincial Training Center–Marinduque which ended last November 22, 2022. The training was conducted with the support from the Municipal government of Mogpog, Department of Trade and Industry–Marinduque, Provincial Tourism Office and Department of Environment and Natural Resources- PENRO Marinduque.

The occasion was graced by Vice Governor Adelyn Angeles, Mr. Rolly Larracas representing Gov. Presbitero J. Velasco, Jr., Provincial Board Member Bernadine Opis-Mercado, Mogpog LGU Mayor Augusto Leo Livelo and Mr. Rino Labay of Provincial Tourism Office.
