Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for licensed professional teachers is now an essential requirement for renewing their licenses. This move from the government encourages professional teachers to look forward and take this opportunity to learn something new. Renewing the license and keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in one’s profession inspires commitment to ongoing lifelong learning. It also encourages looking forward and identifying opportunities to learn, refresh existing knowledge, and improve skills.
To provide this opportunity to professional teachers in the province, the Torrijos Poblacion School of Arts and Trades applied for accreditation, so that even here in the province of Marinduque, there will be an accredited CPD provider that professional teachers can acquire and earn points from enrolling and finishing Trainers Methodology Level I. This competency in the field of technical vocational education and training helps professionals enhance their personal skills and proficiency to be trainers in the technical vocational field.
Trainers Methodology Level I would help teachers be equipped with knowledge and skills in using competency-based training delivery in the Technical Vocational Track under K–12. Interested enrollees shall have a National Certificate Level II and, preferably, industry employment experience related to their National Certificate. This would also be beneficial for those who aspire to be ranked in the application as teachers in the Department of Education, which gives higher points during the application process.
Our target clients are licensed professional teachers who want to be trainers of skills training and who have the experience and expertise to share knowledge, skills, and attitudes in different competencies and who are interested in entering the field of technical vocational training.
We are now accepting enrollees this year for 1 batch of participants, tentatively
scheduled on September 2023, and 2 batches each for 2024 and 2025.
