This region bagged THREE 1- STAR Award for the registered programs in Simeon Suan Vocational and Technical College (SSVTC) in Oriental Mindoro for its Dressmaking NC II; Puerto Princesa School of Arts and Trades (PPSAT) in Palawan for its Housekeeping NC II; and Torrijos Poblacion School of Arts and Trades (TPSAT) in Marinduque for its Organic Agriculture Production NC II.
The plaques were conferred to the 3 TESDA Administered Schools in the region during the 6th National Quality TVET Forum conducted by TESDA in partnership with Unified TVET of the Philippines (UniTVET) held last November 14, 2023 at Midas Hotel, Roxas Blvd., Pasay City.
Receiving the STAR Award plaques was the MIMAROPA Regional Director Angelina M. Carreon, together with the respective Administrators of the Institutions – VSA Israfel L. Mangui of SSVTC; VSA Sianita C. Tadlas of PPSAT and VSA Rosarie R. Paras of TPSAT, and their respective Provincial Director – Provincial Director Zoraida V. Amper of PO-Marinduque, Provincial Director Ben-Hur B. Baniqued of PO-Oriental Mindoro and Provincial Director Gerardo A. Mercado of PO-Palawan.
Kudos to the TESDA 4B MOVES quality teams which put their passion, hard work and time to achieve these quality awards.
The event was graced by no less than the TESDA Secretary Suharto T. Mangudadatu.
This year’s theme was “Driving TVET Innovations for Social Inclusivity and Sustainable Futures” which reinforces the quality of TVET in the country parallel to the international quality assurance standards. The forum was attended by Administrators/Representatives from public and private TVET institutions, Officials/Representatives from TVET associations, industry partners, and TESDA officials and staff.
