A ceremonial awarding of Training Support Fund for the TESDA Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program (TTSP) scholars, along with the distribution of starter toolkits for TESDA Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) scholars, was held during the Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk, and Their Families (PAFFF) initiative. This significant event was led by His Excellency President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., and took place at the Edward S. Hagedorn Coliseum in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on July 18, 2024,
PAFFF, a government program spearheaded by the President, seeks to deliver financial aid and resources to communities hit by the El Niño phenomenon, which has led to severe drought and adversely affected the livelihoods of those in the agricultural and fisheries sectors.
TESDA Palawan has allocated scholarship funds of P23M for the agri-fishery sector to support the affected farmers’ families and workers. During the event, twenty-five (25) TTSP scholars in Contact Center Services NC II and fourteen (14) STEP scholars in Driving NC II were given their training allowances. In addition, the STEP scholars/graduates received their starter toolkits which included hydraulic jack and combination wrench.
The Puerto Princesa School of Arts and Trades (PPSAT) booth displayed skills demonstrations featuring innovative technologies such as the KNX & PLC Mock-Up Trainer and Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Trainer Module.
Notable individuals present during this momentous event included House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, Palawan Governor Victorino Dennis M. Socrates, Marinduque Governor Presbitero Velasco Jr., Puerto Princesa City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron, and officials from various national government agencies and local government units.
The TESDA delegation was led by Regional Director Angelina M. Carreon, assisted by Palawan Provincial Director Gerardo A. Mercado and Dr. Sianita C. Tadlas, Vocational
