In a vibrant display of dedication to technical education, financial inclusion and efficiency, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) MIMAROPA recently held two significant events: the “Gabi ng Parangal at Pagkilala 2024” and the launch of the Landbank PISO Plus Account along with a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing, ending the TESDA 30th Founding Anniversary celebration with an impact!
Gabi ng Parangal at Pagkilala 2024
The “Gabi ng Parangal at Pagkilala 2024,” held on August 29, 2024, was a momentous occasion recognizing outstanding achievements in TVET, forged partnerships and remarkable milestones within the MIMAROPA region, both in the past and in the present times.
This event, anchored on the celebration of the TESDA’s 30th Founding Anniversary Celebration, was graced by Hon. Malou F. Morillo of Calapan City, Hon. Ernilo C. Villas of the Municipality of Bulalacao, around 50 public and private partners including R/PTESDC members, Kabalikat Awardees, TESDA Idol and Model Employees, former TESDA officials who witnessed the progress, challenges, and achievements of the region, TESDA MIMAROPA Management Committee members, and other esteemed guests and partners.
The event, hosted at the TESDA Regional Office, was a celebration of the dedication and success of all leaders, educators, partners, and stakeholders who have contributed to the region’s development through skill acquisition and training.
The event debuted through a Photo Exhibit featuring photos of valuable partnerships and accomplishments in each province and in the region. It became an avenue for reconnection of former officials, guests, present key officials, and attendees as they talk about the pictures, telling a lot of success stories, challenges surpassed, and milestones achieved in themselves.
Afterwards, the awarding ceremony finally commenced. Regional Director Angelina M. Carreon, CESO III, warmly welcomed everyone and encouraged them to seize every moment to catch up, celebrate, and fellowship among one another through actively reminiscing the region’s achievements through the years.
Keynote speaker, Hon. Governor Humerlito A. Dolor, including TESDA MIMAROPA former and present key officials, applauded the accomplishments of the region, understanding the depth of its undertaking in the past few years. Certificates of recognition were awarded to partner institutions and individuals that have significantly advanced technical education and skills development in the region such as the RTESDC members, PTESDC chairpersons and select members, industry partners as the public and private institutions.
Along with their administrators, there had also been a spotlight given to the winning competitors and experts from the MIMAROPA delegation to the recently concluded Philippine National Skills Competition 2024 at the World Trade Center. Achievements as these reflect the positive impact of a strong and established relationship of TESDA MIMAROPA to its partners.
In his keynote address, Governor Dolor emphasized the importance of skill development in empowering individuals and fostering regional growth. The TESDA Gabi ng Parangal was not only a celebration of achievements but a reaffirmation of every attendee’s commitment to improving lives through education and skills training.
Landbank PISO Plus Account Launch and MOA Signing
On August 30, 2024, the focus shifted to financial empowerment with the launch of the Landbank PISO Plus Account and the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between TESDA MIMAROPA and Landbank of the Philippines. The event was held at the TESDA MIMAROPA Regional Office Activity Area and aimed to provide a secure and accessible savings and disbursement solution for TESDA trainees and graduates.
The PISO Plus Account is equipped to help give ease students as they claim their allowances from TESDA scholarship programs. It also would encourage savings among students and trainees, offering low minimum balance requirements and minimal fees. This initiative reflects a collaborative effort to integrate financial literacy and efficiency into TESDA’s broader mission of empowering individuals through skills development.
The MOA signing, attended by key representatives from TESDA MIMAROPA and LBP, formalized the partnership, outlining mutual commitments to promote the PISO Plus Account among TESDA MIMAROPA’s clientele. The agreement also included provisions for joint workshops on financial management and planning.
Landbank Calapan Branch Manager Liza Camposano highlighted the significance of this partnership as providing accessible and affordable banking solutions and equipping TESDA MIMAROPA scholars with banking literacy and financial efficiency.

These back-to-back events underscore TESDA MIMAROPA’s comprehensive approach to fostering both skill development and financial inclusion. As the region celebrates the successes of its trainees and embraces new financial tools, the emphasis remains on creating opportunities for growth and development.
