In celebration of National Women’s Month, TESDA MIMAROPA, under the leadership of Regional Director Angelina M. Carreon, extended its full support to the Department of Tourism (DOT) MIMAROPA headed by Officer-in-Charge Roberto P. Abalado , by assisting in their specialized training program on basic plumbing. This initiative was designed to empower women working in DOT-accredited tourism accommodation establishments in Puerto Galera, Calapan City, Baco, and Pinamalayan. The training aimed to equip these women with essential plumbing skills to enhance their capacity in maintaining the facilities they work in.
TESDA MIMAROPA played a crucial role by providing an expert trainer, Mr. Ronald De Gracia, who led the two-day training program. In addition, TESDA MIMAROPA offered the venue at the TESDA Building Conference Hall, along with all the necessary materials, tools, and resources required for the training. This collaboration highlights TESDA’s commitment to empowering women in the region, supporting skills development, and promoting gender equality, especially in fields that traditionally see lower female participation. The partnership between TESDA and DOT not only contributed to the professional growth of the participants but also reinforced the importance of inclusivity and empowerment in the workforce.
