The TESDA- Occidental Mindoro joined the Consultation Fora on Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan on November 9, 2022 at Barangay Burgos, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro.
Present in the said activity were different agency partners namely:
- Philippine Coconut Authority- (PCA)
- Cooperative Development Authority (CDA)
- Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)
- Department Agriculture (DA)
- TESDA- Occidental Mindoro
- Representative from different Cooperatives in barangay Burgos, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro
Highlights of the Consultation:
Presentation of the programs and services of each agency relative to Coconut Industry
- The TESDA-PO (on behalf of the Provincial Director) represented by Ms. Baby Ruth S. Hablo, Senior TESD Specialist likewise presented the TESDA Circular No. 059, series of 2022 re- Guidelines on the Implementation of the Coconut Farmers Scholarship Program:

- Target beneficiaries
- Qualifications of beneficiaries, and
- Scholarship benefits
Ms Hablo also said that there were scholarship slots available for Coconut Farmers beneficiaries in Organic Agriculture Production and Agricultural Crops Production in three technical vocational institutions namely: Lola’s Healthy Farm in Magsaysay; Mindoro Technical and Vocational Skills Training Center, Inc. in San Jose, and Jessar Technoflow Industries in Abra De Ilog, Occidental Mindoro.
- The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) likewise conducted Registration of coconut farmers from the six (6) cooperatives who joined the consultation. There were twenty five (25) farmers added to the Coconut Farmers Registry of PCA, and these registered farmers were also the potential beneficiaries of TESDA scholarship program.
