As part of the ardent support of the Provincial Government of Marinduque to the butterfly industry in the province, starter toolkits were distributed to sixty-seven (67) graduates of Butterfly Production Level II thru the Provincial LMD-PESO on February 1, 2024 at the Capitol Convention Center, Boac, Marinduque. Beneficiaries of the said toolkits were the first batch of graduates from BSAT, TPSAT and PTC Marinduque since the unique program was launched in 2022. The starter toolkits are intended for the construction of butterfly cage and pupae cabinet.

Present on the said event is Provincial Administrator Michael Vincent Q. Velasco representing Governor Presbitero J. Velasco Jr.  who expressed the Governor and Congressman Lord Allan Jay Q. Velasco’s full support to Marinduqueńos not only to provide the skills and training which will help them to start their own business and contribute to the economic growth of the province of Marinduque. “Hinihikayat ko ang bawat isa sa inyo na gamitin ang mga toolkits na ito ng may pagmamahal, malasakit at dedikasyon. Gamitin natin ng buong talino ang mga aral at kasanayang inyong natutunan mula sa TESDA upang maiangat ang inyong pamumuhay at ng inyong pamilya”, were the exact words of inspiration left by PA Mike to the graduates

Also present in the distribution ceremony is TESDA Marinduque Provincial Director Zoraida V. Amper, TTI Administrators Engr. Joey M. Morales, Rosarie R. Paras and Llena Eugenia P. Moreno and PESO Manager Alma C. Timtiman.

The province is the biggest supplier of live butterflies and pupae in Europe, USA, Canada, Singapore and Middle East gaining its accolade as the (Butterfly Capital of the Philippines”.
