REGIONAL TECHNICAL COMMITTEE AND EXPERTS MEETING FOR THE 2023 REGIONAL SKILLS COMPETITION

In the exigency of the service, the members of the Regional Technical Committee for the conduct of 2023 Regional Skills Competition are hereby invited to attend a face-to-face meeting with experts as per issued Office Order TESDA Region IV-B MIMAROPA with a subject: Face to Face Meeting of Regional Technical Committee and Experts for the 2023 Regional Skills duly signed by the Regional Director, RD Angelina M. Carreon on November 6-7, 2023 at Simeon Suan Vocational and Technical College, Brgy. Pag-asa, Bansud, Oriental Mindoro.

The face-to-face meeting aimed to discuss the following agenda such as: a) Identify the Chief Experts, Work Area Managers, Jury Panel, and other Technical Team, as necessary; b) Finalize CIS; and c) Discuss the Test Packages to be used per skill area.

The Vocational School Administrator III of Simeon Suan Vocational and Technical College, Israfel L. Mangui,C.E.,MPA, welcomed and acknowledged the Regional Technical Committee and Experts. Likewise, the Regional Technical Committee Chairman, PD Gerardo A. Mercado, also gave his welcome message. He presented and discussed the primary objectives in the conduct of the said meeting. Afterwards, to formally recognized and acknowledged all the members of the Regional Technical Committee and Experts, Mr. Eljun Francel A. Angeles, TESDS II of Regional Office, simultaneously acknowledged the participants as stated in the issued office order. After the acknowledgement, Mr. Kevin Andrew P. Reyes, Senior TESD Specialist of PTC Oriental Mindoro, presented the following Competition Skills Area to be competed in the 2023 Regional Skills Competitions:

A total of fifteen (15) competition skills area to be competed in the upcoming 2023 Regional Skills Competition. After the presentation and discussion of the activities to be accomplished, the attendees were grouped based on their skills area so that they will be able to discuss related matters about the finalization of the test packages and to make their agreements re: chief experts and other rules and conditions to be implemented during the competition.

Mr. Eljun Francel A. Angeles, presented the important notes relative to the conduct of the meeting such as: a) Final Venue of the Regional Skills Competition; b) Terms of Reference including the Attendance sheet will be prepared by SSVTC where the budget will be funded by the Regional Office; c) allowable adjustments 30% as per suggest of PD Gerry marking sheets (only for RSC); d) output to be presented to those who did not attend today and agree with the chief experts; e) Chief experts from TESDA and with experience on RSC or PNSC; f) Identify Tabulators; g) Identify Chief Tabulators; h) All experts tomorrow agree for time of closing of system/submission of marking sheets (CIS); i) Submission of infrastructure list; j) Ocular inspection; k) ask NUCITI for sensitivity of their smoke detector; l) final skills area for SSVTC; m) Ingress should be done earlier for the familiarization or ingress on the day of opening; n) whatever happens on the 2nd venue (nuciti) SSVTC will start on November 20, 2023 – Monday, after lunch; o) Thursday of 12NN all skills should be done to give ample time to tabulators. Additionally, he presented the activity for November 7, 2023 so that all of the attendees will be guided accordingly such as: continuation of meeting, CIS/Final designation of roles and site visit/ocular inspection.

Engr. Mangui, facilitated the designation of the Skills Competition Manager per Skills Trade area After that, Mr. Kevin Andrew P. Reyes started the presentation and discussion of the CIS. After the said presentation and discussion, he also addressed the inquiries of the attendees regarding the pointing system. During the discussion, the VSA Mangui and PD Mercado also addressed other inquiries and provided additional input relative to the conduct of skills competition. Afterwards, the attendees were given time to prepare before the conduct of onsite visit and ocular inspection for the finalization of skills area to be conducted at Simeon Suan Vocational and Technical College. They were also advised to submit all of their outputs per skills area at the end of the session for the consolidation of the Regional Technical Committee.

Also, the onsite visit/ocular inspection within the Simeon Suan Vocational and Technical College . The said site inspection has been facilitated by the Vocational School Administrator, Engr. Mangui. This activity aimed to identify and finalize what skills area will be conducted at SSVTC, while the remaining skills area will be conducted at NUCITI – Calapan City. The attendees in the skills area were also advised to prepare their workshop layout during the said competition to be submitted to the Regional Technical Committee.

Additionally, the Regional Technical Committee, presented the final list of Regional Skills Competition Chief Experts, Experts and Skills Competition Manager.

The meeting has been successfully conducted through the cooperation of all the attendees, support, and teamwork of the Regional Technical Committee. The two-day face-to-face meeting ended through the motivational message of the Chairman of the Regional Technical Committee. He continuously motivated and inspired the whole team of Region IV-B to aim high for the 2023 Regional Skills Competition up to Philippine National Skills Competition.
